Basinga is a company gathered around the art of high-wire walking.

We are merely the continuous management of our imbalances. These imbalances push us towards each other. Support us. Make us fall. Or bounce. To hold us, to maintain us, and to move forward, we make connections. We build bridges. We hang on to walls. To branches. To each other.

Through research, teaching, sharing and through the production of high-quality participative shows, Basinga seeks to develop, expand, transmit and communicate this art which, better than any other, illustrates how our greatness is based on our weaknesses and our ability to combine them.

What brings us together, makes us stronger.

"While Basinga’s high-wire artist, Tatiana-Mosio Bongonga, has made daring walks of great length at great heights, the show “Soka Tira Osoa” (“Pulling the Rope”), which Basinga will perform Sept. 4 at the South Street Seaport Museum Plaza, is purposely modest. The assembly of the rigging is part of the performance, and audience members join the process. [...] At the beginning of her career, she said, she didn't think about being a role model. But gradually, the became more conscious of what her walking meant to others. "Black girls come up to her after shows", said Jan Naets, "and they says : you look like me and you walk on a wire. Can we do it too?"
