Nous ne sommes que la gestion continue de nos déséquilibres. Ces déséquilibres nous poussent les uns vers les autres. Nous appuient. Nous font chuter. Ou rebondir. Pour nous tenir, nous maintenir, et avancer, nous tissons des liens. Jetons des ponts. Nous raccrochons aux murs. Aux branches. Les un aux autres.

Par la recherche, l’enseignement, le partage et la production de spectacles participatifs de haut vol, Basinga cherche a développer, étoffer, transmettre et communiquer cet art qui, mieux qu’aucun autre, évoque en quoi notre grandeur repose sur nos fragilités, et notre capacité à savoir les conjuguer.

"While Basinga’s high-wire artist, Tatiana-Mosio Bongonga, has made daring walks of great length at great heights, the show “Soka Tira Osoa” (“Pulling the Rope”), which Basinga will perform Sept. 4 at the South Street Seaport Museum Plaza, is purposely modest. The assembly of the rigging is part of the performance, and audience members join the process. [...] At the beginning of her career, she said, she didn't think about being a role model. But gradually, the became more conscious of what her walking meant to others. "Black girls come up to her after shows", said Jan Naets, "and they says : you look like me and you walk on a wire. Can we do it too?"
