Chez les Culotté.e.s, c’est l’évolution d’un projet de territoire qui existe depuis plus de 10 ans dans notre petit village de Sauve (30).

À l’époque, on le connaissait sous le nom de L’Oktopus et la compagnie marchait main dans la main avec l’association du même nom. Aujourd’hui, ce lieu est porté par la Compagnie Basinga, et reste fidèle à ses racines : un espace vivant, où se rencontrent les artistes, les habitant·e·s et les initiatives locales autour de la création et du spectacle vivant.

Pourquoi ce nom nous direz-vous ? C’est un clin d’œil  à l’histoire du lieu – un grand hangar qui fut autrefois une bonneterie – mais aussi à l’audace et à l’effronterie que suggère le mot… et qui nous ressemble bien.

Le lieu est un très grand hangar modulaire, avec une plancher bois et des accroches en hauteur pour les artistes de cirques aériens. Notre volonté est de renforcer cette modularité pour reconfigurer l’espace en fonction des besoin.

Nous souhaitons en faire un véritable laboratoire de créativité, de transmission et de lien social. On y vient pour découvrir différentes formes artistiques (théâtre, cirque, danse), assister à des sorties de résidences, participer à des ateliers, des formations… mais aussi simplement pour se retrouver, partager et apprendre, tisser des liens dans un lieu chaleureux et engagé.

Nous y avons programmé des concerts pour le 2 et 3 mai à l’occasion de la fête des Ateliers ouverts de l’association Un dimanche à Sauve. Prochain rendez-vous, le 12 juillet pour le rendez-vous annuel du Bal d’été.

Chez les Culotté.e.s is the evolution of a territorial project that has existed for over 10 years in our small village of Sauve (30).

Back then, it was known as L’Oktopus, and the company worked hand in hand with the association of the same name. Today, the space is run by Compagnie Basinga, and it remains true to its roots: a vibrant place where artists, locals, and community initiatives come together around creation and live performance.

Why the name, you ask? It’s a nod both to the history of the space—a large warehouse that once housed a hosiery factory—and to the boldness and cheekiness the word evokes… which suits us perfectly.

The venue is a large, modular hangar with a wooden floor and overhead rigging points for aerial circus artists. Our goal is to further enhance its modularity so we can adapt the space to different needs.

We aim to make it a true laboratory for creativity, transmission, and social connection. It’s a place to discover diverse art forms (theatre, circus, dance), attend residency showings, take part in workshops and training sessions… but also simply to gather, share, and learn—fostering bonds in a warm and engaged environment.

We’ve programmed concerts there on May 2nd and 3rd for the Ateliers Ouverts festival by the association Un dimanche à Sauve. Next up: the annual Bal d’été on July 12th!
